According to Nigerian Gas Flare Tracker, the country lost 1.6 billion dollars to gas flaring at various individual flaring sites in both 2018 and 2019, making these the two years in which the country lost the most money to gas flaring in the previous ten years.
However, the amount of money lost has been reduced by half between 2019 and now.
