In April, Nigerian Governments spent at least N2 billion on cash transfer to 148,176 beneficiaries in 22 states. $9.6b P&ID Fine

The Nigerian government is demanding records of 60 companies and individuals from 10 banks in the United States as part of its efforts to overturn the controversial $9.6 billion P&ID fine. Among the individuals whose bank records are being sought are a former Nigerian president, Goodluck Jonathan; his wife, Patience Jonathan; among others.

$25 Per Barrel

The price got a lift from the decreasing United States’ inventories, coupled with expectations that the gradual relaxation of lockdowns by countries would improve demand.

15 Dead

Death toll in the building collapse along Yar’Adua Drive in Owerri, Imo State, has risen to 15, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported. The latest casualty figure was given by Mr Evans Ugoh, Head of the Imo/Abia State Operations Office of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).

46 Sacked

Forty-six staff of Gotel Communications, a media outfit owned by Nigeria’s former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, have been sacked by the organisation. Gotel Communication is a  television and radio broadcast conglomerate transmitting from Yola, the Adamawa State capital.

400% Increment

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State on Friday announced a 400 per cent increment in the Hazard Allowance of health officers for the month of April as part of efforts to contain the spread of COVID -19 in the state.

N1.2b Debt

A federal high court in Lagos has struck out a suit by the Muhammad Shitta-Bey family of Lagos seeking to recover an N1.275bn judgment debt from Great Nigeria Insurance Plc, the Central Bank of Nigeria and four other banks.
